Why Drafting Caleb Downs Would Be a Poetic Full-Circle Moment for the New York Giants
Star safety Caleb Downs, projected as a top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, could join the New York Giants, creating a meaningful full-circle moment as his father, Gary Downs, was also drafted by the team in 1994. While Gary had a depth role, Caleb is expected to be a significant playmaker, potentially addressing a key need for the Giants’ secondary. The Giants might consider drafting him as high as fifth overall to solidify their defense.
