Troy Aikman Reveals Andy Reid’s Unbelievable Pitch for Eagles Comeback After Retirement
Dallas Cowboys legend Troy Aikman recently shared a surprising story about an unexpected NFL comeback pitch from then-Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid in 2002. After Donovan McNabb’s season-ending injury, Reid attempted to persuade the retired Aikman to join the Eagles, a move that would have seen a lifelong Cowboy play for a fierce rival.
Aikman ultimately declined the offer, and the Eagles’ backup quarterback, A.J. Feeley, successfully stepped in to lead the team to multiple wins and an NFC Championship Game appearance, making Aikman’s potential return a fascinating “what-if” moment in NFL history.
