St. John’s Makes History: Back-to-Back Big East Titles for First Time in 40 Years
The St. John’s Red Storm, led by Rick Pitino, have made history by winning a share of the Big East regular-season title for the second consecutive year, a feat not accomplished in 40 years. Their 72-65 victory over Seton Hall was fueled by strong perimeter shooting and ball movement.
Zuby Ejiofor led the scoring with 21 points, as the No. 18 Red Storm finished the regular season 25-6 overall and 18-2 in conference play, securing the top seed in the Big East Tournament.
