Southampton hit with EFL charge for alleged spying on Middlesbrough ahead of Play-Off Semi-Finals
Southampton has been charged by the English Football League (EFL) for allegedly spying on Middlesbrough’s training session just before their Championship play-off semi-final.
A performance analyst from Southampton was reportedly caught recording tactics and training on Thursday, leading Middlesbrough to file a complaint. The EFL has initiated an independent disciplinary commission to expedite the case, citing breaches of regulations concerning good faith and prohibiting training observation within 72 hours of a match.
