Record High: Anti-Immigrant Chanting Intensifies Across English Football, Kick It Out Report Reveals
A new report from Kick It Out reveals a significant rise in anti-immigrant chanting across all levels of English football, with 39 incidents recorded last season, more than the previous two combined. This contributes to a record 1,744 overall reports of discriminatory behaviour in the 2025-26 season, a 25% increase year-on-year.
The surge, which includes rises in racism, sexism, homophobia, and other forms of discrimination, reflects broader societal trends, according to Kick It Out Chief Executive Samuel Okafor. The charity emphasizes the need for consistent action from authorities and online platforms to tackle this growing issue.
