Raiders’ QB Battle: Kirk Cousins Expected to Start Despite High Draft Pick
Despite drafting Fernando Mendoza first overall, the Las Vegas Raiders are expected to start veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins in Week 1, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. Cousins’ $20 million contract gives him the edge, allowing the Raiders to develop Mendoza at a comfortable pace. The team hopes Mendoza will eventually lead them to playoff contention, but for now, Cousins is the likely starter.
