Padres Plunge into Uncertainty as Nick Pivetta Hits Injured List with Elbow Inflammation
The San Diego Padres have placed starting pitcher Nick Pivetta on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation, a significant blow to their rotation.
Pivetta experienced discomfort and a drop in velocity during his last start, prompting the team to make the move ahead of their series with the Seattle Mariners. RHP Alek Jacob has been recalled to add bullpen depth.
