Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis Open to Antonio Conte Leaving for Italy National Team Post
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has stated he would permit coach Antonio Conte to leave the club to take on the vacant Italy national team job. This comes after Conte expressed his interest in the role, following Gennaro Gattuso’s resignation after Italy’s failure to qualify for the World Cup. Conte, who previously coached Italy from 2014-2016, is under contract with Napoli until 2027, but De Laurentiis appears open to his departure for the national team, pending the election of a new federation president on June 22.
