Mets’ Mendoza Addresses Costly ‘Mental Mistakes’ After David Peterson’s Blunder
New York Mets manager Carlos Mendoza expressed frustration over costly “mental mistakes” following a 7-2 loss to the Cincinnati Reds, which marked the team’s fifth consecutive defeat.
A key play saw pitcher David Peterson fail to back up home plate, an error Mendoza called unacceptable at the professional level. The manager insists that improved on-field execution is the clearest way to show players are receiving the team’s message amidst their current struggles.
