An Interpol arrest warrant has been issued for Jean-Guy Blaise Mayolas, the president of Congo-Brazzaville’s football federation, after he was convicted of embezzling $1.1 million in FIFA funds.

Mayolas and his family are on the run, having been sentenced to life in prison in absentia for the crime, which included misappropriating funds intended for the Congo women’s team.

FIFA has also launched its own disciplinary proceedings, and authorities are working to freeze assets linked to the case.
