Former Alabama State Players Banned for Life by NCAA Over Sports Betting Scheme, Facing Federal Charges
Four former Alabama State men’s basketball players—Amarr Knox, Shawn Fulcher, Corey Hines, and Tony Madlock—have been permanently banned by the NCAA for Level I sports-betting integrity violations related to an alleged scheme to fix a 2024 game against Southern Mississippi. The players reportedly received $2,000 for manipulating the game’s outcome. Fulcher and Hines also face federal charges of bribery and wire fraud for their roles and for allegedly misleading investigators, while Alabama State University itself was not penalized.
