Corruption Allegations Emerge as Senegal Stripped of AFCON Title, Awarded to Morocco
Senegal is demanding an international investigation after being stripped of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title, which was awarded to Morocco by the Confederation of African Football (Caf). The decision stems from Senegal’s players walking off the pitch during the final in protest of a late penalty call.
The Senegalese government and football federation have condemned the ruling as unjust and are appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, alleging corruption and bias within Caf.
