Why the NFL Shut Down Tom Brady’s Bid to Return as a Player
Tom Brady revealed the NFL denied his request to return as a player due to league policies prohibiting active players from holding equity in a franchise. Brady currently owns a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders, which he would have to sell to play again.
The NFL also cited concerns over salary cap implications and competitive integrity. Coupled with his lucrative broadcasting deal, Brady’s chances of returning to the field are virtually nonexistent.
