Josh Heupel’s 2026 Season: Nine Wins Needed Amidst Quarterback Uncertainty After Sam Leavitt Pursuit
Tennessee coach Josh Heupel is under pressure to win at least nine games in the 2026 season, especially after failing to land transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt. The Vols’ quarterback situation remains uncertain heading into the season, with a potential new starter for the fifth consecutive year.
Analysts believe that missing out on Leavitt, who committed to Ole Miss, puts Heupel in a must-win scenario for 2026 to keep the program on track for playoff contention.
