Tennis Ball Protest Shakes St Andrews as Celtic Fans Confront Owner Dermot Desmond
Celtic’s principal shareholder, Dermot Desmond, was subjected to a fan protest during the Alfred Dunhill Links golf tournament at St Andrews. Disgruntled supporters threw tennis balls at him, which were marked with his crossed-out face, prompting security to escort him from the course.
The incident, initiated by the Celtic Fans Collective over concerns about club management and on-field performance, has been vehemently condemned by Celtic FC, who described it as a “premeditated action” that “brought shame” upon the club.
