NFL Fans Slam Al Michaels for ‘Sleepwalking’ Through Bijan Robinson’s Electric Thursday Night Football Performance
NFL fans expressed widespread disappointment with Al Michaels’ unenthusiastic commentary during the Atlanta Falcons’ Week 3 Thursday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers. Viewers felt Michaels “sleepwalked” through exciting plays by rookie running back Bijan Robinson, whose performance, along with Michael Penix Jr.’s debut at quarterback, marked a significant improvement for the Falcons’ offense.
Social media was abuzz with criticism, with fans describing Michaels’ energy as comparable to “Eeyore on Xanax” and questioning his suitability for prime-time broadcasts, despite Robinson’s electrifying 111-yard first-half rushing effort.
