Her harrowing experience, which left her fighting for survival and needing to relearn how to walk, has given her a new perspective on life and football.
Now largely recovered, Bachteler credits Burnley’s medical staff and the NHS for saving her life and is committed to raising awareness about sepsis symptoms, especially as her return coincides with World Sepsis Day.
