Chelsea secure opening win under Alonso despite defensive jitters against Fulham
Chelsea secured an opening day victory in their Premier League clash against Fulham, with Xabi Alonso beginning his managerial reign on a positive note. Despite a dominant attacking performance from João Pedro, Cole Palmer, and Morgan Rogers, the team showed defensive frailties and a need for greater cohesion.
Fulham put up a spirited fight and were unfortunate not to come away with a point, highlighting potential challenges ahead for Alonso’s side as they look to build on this initial success.
