Arsenal Confirms William Saliba Sidelined for ‘Extended Period’ with Back Injury
Arsenal has confirmed a major injury blow for centre-back William Saliba, who will miss an “extended period” of action due to a back injury sustained during France’s World Cup semi-final loss to Spain. While surgery is not needed, the 25-year-old will undergo a managed rehabilitation program.
This comes after Saliba played through previous minor issues in club and international competitions, adding pressure on the Premier League champions, who also saw key players Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice battle injuries during the tournament.
