Martin O’Neill’s Celtic Return Deemed ‘No-Brainer’ Amidst Major Squad Overhaul
Martin O’Neill’s expected permanent appointment as Celtic manager is being lauded as a “no-brainer” by former captain Paul Lambert, who believes O’Neill is the ideal figure to lead the club. Following a successful interim period that secured a league and cup double, O’Neill is set to sign a one-year deal, ushering in an era focused on stability and winning.
However, Celtic faces a massive squad overhaul this summer, with potentially over ten players departing, including key figures like Daizen Maeda. The club must learn from last season’s transfer window missteps and prioritize swift, effective recruitment, particularly in attacking areas, to avoid jeopardizing their Champions League ambitions and maintain competitiveness.
