Brazil’s World Cup Squad Struck by Injury: Wesley Out, Man Utd-Bound Ederson Steps In
Brazil’s World Cup squad has suffered a blow with full-back Wesley forced to withdraw due to a thigh injury sustained during a warm-up match against Egypt. Manchester United-bound midfielder Ederson has been called up as his replacement, joining the squad in the United States.
Ederson, 26, is set to complete a £35 million move to Old Trafford and will now feature in Brazil’s Group C campaign, which includes fixtures against Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland.
