Giants Hit Rock Bottom: Vitello’s Era Plunges into Embarrassment After Rays Sweep
The San Francisco Giants are enduring an embarrassing start to the Tony Vitello era, falling to 13-21 and last place in the NL West after being swept by the Tampa Bay Rays, marking their sixth straight loss. The team’s offense is historically bad, scoring the third-fewest runs through 34 games in franchise history and ranking last in MLB in total runs.
While star players’ underperformance is a major factor, Vitello faces immense pressure to turn the struggling team around. The hope remains for a regression to the mean in offensive production as the season progresses.
