Craig Stammen Absent from Padres’ Series Finale vs. Cubs Due to Family Funeral
San Diego Padres bench coach Craig Stammen will miss Wednesday’s series finale against the Chicago Cubs to attend a funeral. He left Tuesday’s game early for the same reason.
Randy Knorr will manage the team in Stammen’s absence for both the conclusion of Tuesday’s game and Wednesday’s matchup. Stammen is set to become the Padres’ manager in 2026 and has guided the team to a strong start this season.
