Avalanche Coach Jared Bednar Stunned by Scott Wedgewood’s Playoff Debut Fact After Game 1 Victory
Colorado Avalanche coach Jared Bednar expressed surprise after learning that Game 1 against the Los Angeles Kings marked Scott Wedgewood’s first-ever playoff start, despite the goalie having previous relief appearances.
Wedgewood delivered a stellar performance, stopping 24 of 25 shots in the Avalanche’s 2-1 victory, and at 33 years old, became the third-oldest goalie in NHL history to win his playoff debut start.
